IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts to develop Holiday Inn Sriperumbudur, a 200-room hotel in Tamil Nadu.
The property is scheduled to open in 1Q2029 and will add to the group’s presence in industrial and commercial markets in India.
Located in Sriperumbudur, the hotel is positioned to serve corporate, transit and religious travel demand. The area has developed as a manufacturing and investment hub, supported by its proximity to Chennai port, its location along the Chennai-Bangalore highway and ongoing infrastructure projects. The presence of technology parks, automotive and electronics manufacturers, and the aerospace park at Vallam Vadagal has contributed to growth in the region, alongside expansion in logistics and warehousing.
The hotel will include standard rooms and suites, three dining outlets, a ballroom, swimming pool and fitness centre.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. A further 89 hotels are planned to open over the next three to five years.
